Beginner Program (TTS)

Program Overview

Building Strong Fundamentals the Right Way

The Beginner Program at TUG Sports Institute is designed for athletes who are ready to move beyond introductory play and begin structured cricket training.

This program focuses on building strong fundamentals, discipline, and comfort with regular training routines. It is ideal for athletes who are learning the basics of batting, bowling, and fielding in a more organised environment, while still being supported and guided closely.

The emphasis at this stage is on learning correctly, not on rushing progress.

Development Focus

Establishing Fundamentals for Long-Term Progress

The Beginner Program focuses on establishing a solid base that athletes can build on over time.

Key focus areas include:

  • Basic batting, Bowling, and Fielding techniques
  • Correct movement patterns and coordination
  • Understanding simple game situations
  • Learning to train within a group structure
  • Developing discipline, attention, and consistency

Mistakes are treated as part of learning, and athletes are encouraged to focus on effort, routine, and improvement rather than outcomes.

Training Structure

Structured and Progressive Training Model

Training in the Beginner Program is structured and progressive, allowing athletes to adapt gradually to regular practice.

  • Scheduled training days: 3 days per week
  • Optional additional day: 1 extra training day may be added
  • Sessions are coach-led and planned in advance
  • Batch size is strictly capped to ensure individual attention

Training schedules are fixed to promote routine and reduce uncertainty for athletes and families.

Learning Environment

Structured Learning with Encouragement and Patience

The learning environment in the Beginner Program balances structure with encouragement.

Athletes are introduced to:

  • Listening to coaching instructions
  • Following routines and practice formats
  • Training alongside peers respectfully
  • Developing confidence through repetition

There is no emphasis on rankings, comparisons, or early specialisation. Progress is allowed to happen at an individual pace within a structured system.
